EMDR Consultation for Clinicians

Looking to advance your EMDR skills or seek certification?

As an EMDRIA consultant-in-training, I offer EMDR consultation to therapists seeking to meet consultation hours for the completion of their basic EMDR training, those pursuing EMDR certification, and those looking to improve their skills in EMDR or integrate it more thoroughly into their practice.

I specialize in using EMDR for complex trauma, chronic pain, and experiences of body-based oppression such as racism, transphobia, anti-fat bias, and ableism. I care deeply about using EMDR from a relational and anti-oppressive lens, using what we know about the neuroscience of trauma (including Polyvagal Theory) to address collective, intergenerational, and embodied wounds.

EMDR is a somatic trauma therapy that works with the brain and body’s natural healing process to help resolve trauma or feelings “stuck” in the body. I have found EMDR to be a beautiful complement to somatic and attachment-based therapies that combines the neuroscience of trauma with the best practices of somatic attunement and relational healing.

 FAQs

  • I’m a licensed professional counselor in Wisconsin (LPC license #: 11242 - 125). I graduated with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University Seattle, where I was particularly interested in body-based methods of healing and the neuroscience of trauma. I completed my clinical training at Seattle EMDR Associates, where I became fully trained in EMDR. In 2024, I received EMDR certification, and in 2025 I began the process to become an EMDRIA Approved Consultant.

During the course of my training in EMDR, I have remained interested in somatic modalities of healing and have continued both ongoing somatic consultation and EMDR consultation. I am particularly influenced by Somatic Transformation and Polyvagal Theory and hold a certificate in somatic trauma therapy from the Embody Lab. These are all strong foundations for my work in EMDR, paritcularly in the resourcing phase, although interpersonal neurobiology is relevant throughout all 8 phases of EMDR. In consultation, I hope to help clinicians gain confidence in applying the standard EMDR protocol while holding a relational and anti-oppressive stance.

    8. 12 hours of EMDRIA continuing education credits

You can learn more about the EMDR certification process on the EMDR International Association’s (EMDRIA) website.

  • No. As an EMDR Approved Consultant-in-Training, you can only complete 15 of your 20 required hours with me. However, I have several referrals for other EMDRIA Approved Consultants with whom you can complete the final five hours, and I will still be able to provide you with a letter of recommendation for certification.
