Trauma informed therapy
Feelings of disconnection, overwhelm, lack of safety, and shame can haunt us - but they don’t have to.
While trauma can be experienced as a single event, more often it is a result of repeated experiences of disconnection over time and even over generations.
These experiences can make us feel stuck in reactive or unhelpful patterns of behavior. They can make us hold on to secret, shameful beliefs about ourselves or hold us back from engaging fully in the world. They may make our relationships feel unsafe or unpredictable. We may feel fundamentally incapable of happiness or too different from everyone around us.
Healing trauma starts with connection. When we work together, we’ll always start by building safety and trust. The body’s response to trauma is unique to each person, so we’ll focus on learning about your body, brain, and nervous system, and how trauma is showing up in your life. Healing is possible, and I would love to connect with you!
