Trauma therapy in Madison, WI

EMDR and somatic therapy for trauma, chronic pain, and body liberation

Do you feel overwhelmed by emotions or feelings? Is the thought of being present in your body uncomfortable or even scary?

If so, you’re not alone! And healing is possible.

The nervous system is constantly scanning our environment for signals of safety. When we experience being profoundly unsafe, our body remembers that feeling. If you’re dealing with intense emotions or physical symptoms in the body such as panic, anxiety, anger, fear, shame, dissociation, sadness, relational anxiety, or pain, then counseling can help change your relationship with your body, with others, and with the world around you.

Hi, I’m Kal. I’m a counselor in Madison, WI.

I help folks of all backgrounds find a sense of safety in their body after experiences of trauma, chronic pain, and body-based oppression (transphobia, anti-fat bias, ableism, racism, etc.). We’ll work together to understand and befriend your nervous system and build upon experiences of safety and connection to promote healing and emotional well-being.

As a trauma therapist, I believe that our bodies and brains heal through experiencing relationships that feel nourishing and safe. I incorporate EMDR therapy, somatic therapy, and attachment therapy in my work, and I practice from a fat positive and Health at Every Size perspective.

I offer online therapy for teens and adults throughout Wisconsin, and in-person therapy in Madison, WI.
